About

AHWAAHAN — a call for gender equity and harmony

AHWAAHAN initiative — a Beacon of hope, courage, and empowerment.

Shaken by the inhumane incidents that scarred the early 2000s, Ms. Uma Ghurka
- a pioneering first-generation entrepreneur and compassionate philanthropist — vowed to transform her anguish into action. Determined to stand up for women’s safety, dignity, and equality, she ignited a movement that would go on to inspire many. Thus was born the AHWAAHAN initiative.
